Katrina Gotschall

Professional Development Coordinator

I joined ESU 8 as a Staff Developer in 2021 after 17 years of teaching High School ELA, Social Studies, and Photojournalism. Before that, I was an archaeologist for the National Park Service, which was EXCELLENT preparation for being a teacher!

I love serving schools with Professional Learning in Curriculum and Instructional Design, focusing on High Leverage Tier 1 Practices, Curricular Materials Alignment and Adoption, Instructional Frameworks, and CANVAS LMS implementation. Her specific content areas of focus are K-12 Social Studies, 7-12 ELA, and Career and Technical Education, where she also manages The Perkins Grant.

Some barely interesting factoids: I’m a 5th generation Nebraska ranch girl, and my husband and I ranch by Atkinson. We have 2 teen boys, 2 ranch dogs, and 3 wannabe ranch cats.
Adventure, exploration, and learning about people and their stories fill my cup.

Historically speaking, my curiosity is both a blessing and a curse... :)
